Terror USA

People all over the world are shaken by the terror attacks against the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Georg Hirsch, a journalist who lives in Washington, got a first-hand experience of the chaos. When a hijacked airplane crashed into the Pentagon, he was at the George Washington University, just a few blocks from the White House. He saw crowds trying to get out of the city, police and ambulance cars pushing through traffic jams, packed and blocked Metro trains, people trying to get through to their relatives by cell phone to give them a sign of life, and he also saw how the American capital turned into an abandoned place within a few hours. Georg Hirsch is giving an eye witness account live on the night program of Deutschlandfunk (DLF).
