Anderson & Roe

The American piano duo Anderson & Roe is on its way to international fame. Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Roe not only have a high command of their instrument, but they are also very apt with film camera and editing software, they are at home in music styles from baroque through avant-garde to hard rock, and they are willing to risk their physical well-being to transform their musical ideas into spectacular images. Some of their YouTube clips have been viewed more than one million times, their CD/DVD titled "when words fade" conquered the Billboard classical charts, and their latest masterstroke has been a video based on Igor Stravinsky's "Le sacre du printemps" which brims over with beautiful as well as with horrific pictures. Both pianists are also in high demand as soloists, and both were students at the famous Juilliard School in New York, where they met 13 years ago. Georg Hirsch spoke with the piano duo Anderson & Roe, which will have its first live appearance in Germany in November.
